Live-in Housekeeper - ST JOHNS WOOD, London

Live-in Housekeeper needed for Businessman in St John’s Wood.
Schedule: Full time, Monday to Friday with flexibility. The Principal often travels and is not at the residence much at all, which leaves for alot of downtime. 

We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience encompassing a majority of the list of duties listed below. We need someone fit, full of energy, and with excellent presentation. High integrity and hardworking are important must haves. 

The house is somewhat big but only the owner lives there, his partner and kids only visit occasionally over weekends etc. So not a lot of laundry or cleaning given there are not a lot of people around most of the time.

Accommodation: is a well-appointed room with en-suite bathroom. All food is also provided.


Responsibilities:

  • General household cleaning to include dusting, vacuuming and polishing.

  • Laundry, washing and ironing clothing, sheets and blankets

  • Clear rubbish and waste paper bins

  • Clean bathrooms, basin and lavatories

  • Washing/scrubbing tiled surfaces

  • Ironing shirts, sheets and anything else required

  • Make sure all surfaces are dusted including window frames and skirting boards

  • Buy and order online all products necessary for cleaning and when they need replacing

  • Buy and order groceries online using the house account.

  • Make sure cupboards are kept neat and tidy

  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept clean such as oven, hobs and dishwashers

  • Beds and linens changed regularly. 

  • Room tidying and water bottles in every room daily.

  • Mirrors and glass surfaces kept clean

  • Ensure wardrobes and draws are kept neat and tidy

  • Watering household plants

  • Advise employers of any domestic repairs or replacements that require attention.

  • Answer a landline and take messages as required

  • Feed and walk dog sometimes.

  • Leave the house to perform small errands like buy bread

  • Agree menus with employer on a daily or weekly basis and plan and prepare meals.

  • Lay and serve a table

  • Open door, and receive parcels.

  • Open door and oversee contractors sometimes (gardener, pool guy, electrician, handyman)

  • Set the security alarm on the house

For deep cleaning and other special cleaning projects, the family hires one extra person one day a week, entirely under the supervision of the main Housekeeper.
