Live-in Nanny/ Housekeeper

Location: Devon, South West England

Family: Mum & two children, G6 and B7 years old

Pets: Two small dogs

Household size: 5-bedrooms, over 2-floors

Schedule: Monday to Friday, full time between 7am- 7pm

Job Summary:  
A friendly and informal family are seeking a Live in Nanny/ Housekeeper to support their home and two school aged children as mum returns to work full time. The family is looking for someone who is confident, warm, and adaptable, with a genuine love of both children and home life.
This is a long term role for someone who enjoys variety in their day, is proactive, and takes pride in both their childcare, and housekeeping skills.
In term time, the children are in school from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The days are more focused on housekeeping and home management - some down time during the day once tasks are complete.
In school holidays - The role shifts to more childcare-focused responsibilities. Planning fun days, outings, and supporting a structured but relaxed routine
Job specification:
- Daily cleaning, tidying, hoovering and dusting
- Family laundry and ironing
- Changing bedding and keeping bedrooms clean and organised
- Meal preparation and family meal planning
- Grocery shopping and kitchen stock management
- Keeping communal areas and children’s spaces neat and well-maintained
- Help with morning routines and school runs
- Supervising homework, preparing dinner, and supporting evening routines
- Arranging and attending playdates, activities, and outings
- Being engaging, playful, and able to set kind but clear boundaries
Candidate specification:
- Strong childcare experience, especially with school aged children
- Housekeeping experience with a good eye for detail
- Confident and enjoys home style cooking and meal planning
- Pet friendly – comfortable being around dogs (small dogs)
- A true team player with a "muck-in" attitude
- Comfortable with shared care – happy for mum to be present and involved when she is around
- Clean UK driving licence – a car can be provided for duty use; ideally also has own vehicle
- Friendly, discreet, and looking for a long-term role where they can become part of the family
Accommodation: Own bedroom, bathroom, sitting area (pet welcome – not cat/s due to the family dogs)

Start date: September 2025

Salary: £750 + Gross per week, negotiable
